Airline Prepares to Take Flight

AirlineWhile they have been compared sonically to the Kinks, The Police, and Pink Floyd, Dallas-based Airline is anything but a throwback.  Ranging from pensive to explosive, their sound is the sum of the creative tension between four opinionated musicians.

The band hammers away at each song until the arrangement is taut and visceral.   “We don’t quite fit the slacker image of just jamming away in the garage.  We’ve been known to argue over the placement of one bass note or chord voicing.  But when the song finally clicks, we all know it,” explains Airline.

Catch Airline’s performance at Road to RedGorilla’s Dallas Regional Showcase and pick up the band’s new

debut LP, Farewell Republica. Check out Airline’s music at www.myspace.com/airlinemusic

Sunward

RedGorilla Looks Sunward

Merging melodic song craft with psychedelically infused sounds, Sunwards music moves in a refreshing direction somewhere between indie-pop and space rock. While their compositions are steeped in lush, heady audioscapes painted by atmospheric violin, guitar and synthesizers, Sunward never abandons the most important element of a rock song, the melody.

Sunward’s style is a quirky retro-pop that is both cerebral and catchy.Sunward recently released their full-length album entitled, “Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Horses,”

Sunward will be rocking Club Data for Road to RedGorilla. Check out the tunes at www.myspace.com/sunward

Every March thousands of music lovers and artists flock to the streets of Austin, Texas for one of the largest and most anticipated weeks in the music industry. The RedGorilla Music Festival is proud to be a part of these events and in 2009 will showcase nearly 350 independent artists on ten stages.

The event coordinators at RedGorilla have partnered with NOTeNEF Promotions to  create the Road to RedGorilla. This winter, RedGorilla is traveling to five new markets showcasing independent talent to satisfy the musical hunger for fans that just can’t wait for the buffet of artists in Austin.

The Road to RedGorilla begins in Kansas City, MO on November 22 where KC favorites Pomeroy, Making Movies, and Your Electric Grandmother will perform at Jerry’s Bait Shop (the Lee Summit Location).  On December 6, Road to RedGorilla hosts indie favorites The Winter Sounds and Part Bear as they are scheduled to perform along side folk rock’s Sonia Leigh at Tasty World in Athens, GA. The traveling showcase will reach Dallas on December 13th as well as Orlando and St. Louis after the new year.

The RedGorilla team is inviting fans to come support their favorite band and to discover some of the hottest new independent music.
