Congratulations to Your Electric Grandmother for winning the fan favorite vote at Saturday’s Road to RedGorilla! Your Electric Grandmother hails from Kansas City, MO where the showcase was held, and began their musical journey as the house band for KC’s Lee’s Summit. After covering everything from Lionel Richie to Tool, Your Electric Grandmother decided to take their dreams a step further, writing and recording all original material for the upcoming album slated for release on December 27th. The band won over fans with a new original fresh from the studio, and will receive extra promotions at the RedGorilla Music Fest in March of 2009.

Road to RedGorilla would also like to thank Pomeroy and Making Movies who helped to pack the house Saturday. All three bands delivered stellar performances, and will be featured on the festival in March.

Also, RedGorilla has partnered with Flyfi.com to launch an online voting application that is now up and running.  Be sure to check in at RedGorillaMusic.com and vote for your favorite band of the night after each stop of the Road to RedGorilla. Following each showcase, fans will have two weeks to stop by the website and cast their votes. For each show, the band with the highest number of votes will win a primetime spot at the RedGorilla Music Festival March 18-21 in Austin, Texas. Additionally, the band with the highest number of votes collectively (all cities included) will win a spot on the RedGorilla Music Festival compilation CD. Fans can vote as often as possible so head to RedGorillaMusic.com and support your favorite band now!

As the house band for Lenexa in Kansas City, MO, Your Electric Grandmother was known as The Stolen Winnebagos. Under that alias they covered everything from Lionel Richie to Tool keeping the place packed and the crowd happy. These days, the trio is keeping things interesting by writing and performing all original tunes.

Their upcoming debut release will feature a strong progressive rock influence and experimental tendencies, qualities that have shaped the groups sound, and been instrumental in the success these boys have garnered.

Your Electric Grandmother will showcase their new sound on November 22, 2008 at Jerry’s Bait Shop as part of The Road To RedGorilla so don’t miss it. This eclectic pop-rock is sure to please, and ready for action. MAKING MOVIES

Buenos Dias mi amigos!  There’s nothing better than a dash of spicy Latin music to brighten your day, and MAKING MOVIES wants to be the one to bring it to you.

With the release of their latest album “Tierra Firme” the Kansas City-based trio delivers just that, a quirky array of Latin/Pop-Rock tunes in both English AND Spanish.  That’s right folks the first five songs on the record are performed in English and the second set of five are performed in Spanish.  Perfect for all you bi-lingual indie-rockers out there.  MAKING MOVIES calls their latest release, “a mix of The Police and Santana” and says the inspiration for the record came from, “personal emotions and experiences, along with [Latin] heritage. The record is definitely based around the idea of conquest in Latin culture.”

As MAKING MOVIES begins that conquest, they draw on business-savvy backgrounds, and years of experience in the industry to catapult them to success.  “The goal is to get our music to the most people possible,” said singer/guitarist Enrique Chi and with their eclectic sound and impressive bi-lingual repertoire, MAKING MOVIES is well on their way.

Don’t miss MAKING MOVIES with Pomeroy and Your Electric Grandmother, at The Road to RedGorilla showcase at Jerry’s Bait Shop in Kansas City, MO.  Visit http://www.jerrysbaitshop.net/ for show times and ticket information.

Peace.

If you’ve not already met, let us introduce you to POMEROY!

Since the spring of 1999 when they released their first album “Inside the Shine,” Pomeroy has taken the Midwest by storm, crooning fans with their slick pop melodies, grungy hooks, and smooth R&B flare.  The band’s first single “Robo Flow”—a staple on Midwest radio—created quite a buzz around the five-some and ultimately lead to a barrage of inquiries from various majors and indies.  Refusing to squeeze into the mainstream mold, however, Pomeroy decided to take the high road, perfecting their live shows and honing a unique sound that rivals the likes of Maroon 5.

Over the years Pomeroy released two more records, “Cocoon Club” in 2001, and “Blue Note” in 2005.  Both were incredibly well received and instrumental in developing the timeless, reflective quality that can be found on the band’s latest release “A New Reflection.”

Pomeroy says, “This album has become much more than just 11 songs on a CD.  It has become the battle cry behind this bands evolution.  It is the axis around which Pomeroy now spins and has ultimately let to our creative rebirth.  It is fresh, it is different, and it is the best collective work of art we have ever produced.”

It’s quite a bold statement for any band to make, but Pomeroy is ready to back it up, and they’re ready for you to be a witness.  Come out to The Road to RedGorilla showcase for the complete Pomeroy experience, and visit your iTunes music store to download the latest from Pomeroy, “The Beat Goes On.”
