That’s right, folks. Kansas City’s funky pop rockers Pomeroy have scooped up the most votes from the Road to RedGorilla online contest sponsored by Flyfi.com. Road to RedGorilla’s first stop in ’08 was at Jerry’s Bait Shop in Kansas City where Pomeroy, Making Movies, and Your Electric Grand Mother showcased to represent RedGorilla Music Fest official artists for 2009. Following the show, each artist was uploaded into the Flyfi.com Voting Player and votes continued for 2 weeks following their showcase. The contest included other Road to RedGorilla artists in cities such as Dallas, St. Louis, Orlando, and Athens, GA.

Congratulations Pomeroy! Can’t wait to hear your track on the official RedGorilla Music Fest compilation cd, Outside the Box vol.3

Your Electric Grandmother hails from Kansas City, MO where the showcase was held, and began their musical journey as the house band for KC’s Lee’s Summit. After covering everything from Lionel Richie to Tool, Your Electric Grandmother decided to take their dreams a step further, writing and recording all original material for the upcoming album slated for release on December 27th. The band won over fans with a new original fresh from the studio, and will receive extra promotions at the RedGorilla Music Fest in March of 2009.

Airline Prepares to Take Flight

AirlineWhile they have been compared sonically to the Kinks, The Police, and Pink Floyd, Dallas-based Airline is anything but a throwback.  Ranging from pensive to explosive, their sound is the sum of the creative tension between four opinionated musicians.

The band hammers away at each song until the arrangement is taut and visceral.   “We don’t quite fit the slacker image of just jamming away in the garage.  We’ve been known to argue over the placement of one bass note or chord voicing.  But when the song finally clicks, we all know it,” explains Airline.

Catch Airline’s performance at Road to RedGorilla’s Dallas Regional Showcase and pick up the band’s new

debut LP, Farewell Republica. Check out Airline’s music at www.myspace.com/airlinemusic

Sunward

RedGorilla Looks Sunward

Merging melodic song craft with psychedelically infused sounds, Sunwards music moves in a refreshing direction somewhere between indie-pop and space rock. While their compositions are steeped in lush, heady audioscapes painted by atmospheric violin, guitar and synthesizers, Sunward never abandons the most important element of a rock song, the melody.

Sunward’s style is a quirky retro-pop that is both cerebral and catchy.Sunward recently released their full-length album entitled, “Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Horses,”

Sunward will be rocking Club Data for Road to RedGorilla. Check out the tunes at www.myspace.com/sunward
